Classes provide general information of the physical and psychological effects of alcohol/ drugs as related to driving behavior and the development of chemical dependency. The laws of Montana relating to using and driving are heavily stressed. Participants are also provided the opportunity to develop their own DUI avoidance plan to prevent further alcohol and/ or drug and driving related offenses. The three areas of focus in the Prime for Life Curriculum are:

The Minor in Possession (MIP) program offered through Gateway Community Services is designed for offenders who have received a MIP charge. The MIP program is an educational course designed to enlighten the offender and the parents about the harmful physical and psychological effects of alcohol on the human body, the serious legal consequences related to substance misuse and how to make responsible choices.
